To help minister to your child more effectively, here are some guidelines we have established in the Children’s Ministry:
Next Generations and Ignite Youth Ministry Service Days and Times
Bible Study every Wednesday from 7-7:45 pm
Sunday School every Sunday from 9 -9:45am
Children’s Church every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday immediately after praise and worship
Youth Ministry every 2nd and 4th Sunday immediately after praise and worship
We have a children’s ministry for ages 5 to 11 years old and a youth ministry for ages 12-18 years of age.
Jesus says in Matthew 19:14 “Let the little children come to Me, and not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Our vision for the children at New Life Ministries is to provide a loving, secure and fun environment in which a child will be encouraged to develop into the young person that God wants them to be. The most important part of your child’s Christian walk is the foundation, because a building can only be as strong as the foundation on which it stands.
We know that some people take an interest in whatever concerns their child (spirit, soul, and body), so we make it our responsibility to supplement what you are probably already teaching your child at home. We hold fast to the promise in Proverbs 22:6 which says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Speak the Word of God to them. Their spirits are well able to receive. Deuteronomy 6:5-9 says, “5You shall love the LORD your child God with all your heart, will all your soul and with all your strength. 6“And these words which command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
The Ignite Youth Ministry is an engaging and welcoming environment for its youth and their friends that:
· Surrounds youth with an unconditional love that fosters genuine relationships,
· Anchors them in the joys and traditions of the Christian faith,
· Energizes and equips them to extend the love of Christ the world.
Christ-Centeredness: The foundation of every program and activity sponsored by our youth ministry is to help youth grow as disciples of Jesus Christ and to aid them in developing the morals of a Christ-centered faith.
God's Word: Our ministry is grounded in the Bible, and its principles guide all our programs.
Authentic Acceptance: Our youth ministry is a place where youth, their parents and their leaders can be themselves and where people of different schools, races and backgrounds are genuinely welcomed and valued.
Sanctuary: A spirit of supportive openness pervades our youth ministry and provides youth with safe places and times to express their struggles and find encouragement among their peers and leaders.
Ownership: Youth are highly invested in the planning and implementation of the youth ministry and they observe and create distinctive traditions that foster enthusiasm and pride in each setting of the youth program.
Respect: We foster an environment of respect for self, one another and God’s good creation.
Joy: We bring an attitude of fun and uninhibited enthusiasm to every youth ministry event.
Relationship Focus: We help youth build life long bonds with one another and with the members of their church family, offering times for sincere and meaningful sharing among youth, their advisors and mentors.
Compassion: We show particular concern for those in need, both inside and outside our church, extending God’s grace and care freely and faithfully.
Shepherding: We seek to know every New Life youth personally and actively encourage them to participate in the life of the church.
